Improving our School

Step 2

Do you know where this is and what it is about to become?

New Geography Classrooms
As part of our rolling programme to up-date our classrooms, two of the Geography Suite have had teaching walls installed and glass boards for collaborative work.  Mrs Jones' room was completed last year, so watch out Mrs Eyre, your room is next!

Our School

Pick Up a Book and Read

The Library is back open again! Please see below for opening times and also for the new display that has gone up this week... An Oasis of Calm! On this display you can find a range of books to help you escape this busy world. We also have lots of new in books too so make sure to come and take a look! Another addition to the Library this week is our News Corner, which currently hosts a display exploring anti-racism and the significance of this. Here you'll find interesting and thought-provoking articles that you can take away and read which are based on the topic as well as a selection of books for further reading around the subject area. I look forward to welcoming you all back to the Library!

Did You Participate?

‘Virtual Sports Day’

From the 18th-29th May the PE department launched ‘Virtual Sports Day’ on Frog.

The assignment was designed to provide a fun and active set of challenges that could be achieved by all students. They included a ‘tin foil ball toss’, and ‘agility challenge’ and a ‘water relay race’, all activities were adapted from sports day events that we hoped students would be able to recreate from home- to acknowledge one of the PE Department's favourite days of the year!

The challenges encouraged students to put on their PE kits and try their best to win prizes for success, engagement and inventive ideas for future activities! There was also a 'Winstigram Challenge' for students to provide an image of themselves taking part with a clever caption. There was something for everyone!

Over 100 students took part across the two week period, and there were some great results.

The PE department are currently collating the results, and have been uploading pictures to the Virtual Sports Day Gallery- Make sure you check to see if your images made it to the website!

Whilst the assignment has officially closed, the site remains on Frog for students to revisit challenges if they want to give it another go, or maybe try it for the first time.

Well done to all those who took part, prize winners will be announced soon, so keep checking the PE: portal for the results!

Keep active and stay safe!
