 New Year 8 Music Programme

A group of Year 8 boys have been working through a newly designed music course, initiated by Mrs Mellor.  The students have had access to our recording studio and Mr Woods, our new Studio Technician.
The students were each on a computer using the programme Logic to create the music for a computer game advert. They were looking at how to ensure the music matched with the action so were having to manipulate and edit loops.  The students have worked exceptionally hard and impressed Mr Drake, Head of Music, with their determination and enthusiasm for the project.

Our studio is available to rent during evenings, weekends and school holidays, please contact the school office and ask for Alex Woods.

Surrey SumDog

This week the website SumDog has been running a competition for maths classes for schools in Surrey.  Mrs Colloff organised for one of her year 7 classes to take part in this competition and they did fantastically well and showed great commitment to the competition and ended up in second place.

Winston at Woking College

Year 10 at Woking College

Year 10 students enjoyed a great taster day at Woking College, following up the discussions they had with the tuors when the college visited the school two weeks ago.  The opportunity to experience 'A' Level lessons and appreciate a different learning environment is part of a package of activities that help students to make an inform decision about their future pathway.  I would like to thank the college tutors for making our students feel so welcome and providing an interesting and challenging day.

Dear Miss Baxter & Mr Byrne,

Thanks to you and all your staff for facilitating a great Taster Day.

Comments here from teachers were that your students were really engaged with lessons, polite, and a credit to your school.

We all enjoyed welcoming them to College and again thanks to all your staff for making the day a success.

Any feedback from your staff would be much appreciated.

Big thanks

Marketing Manager

G&T Dance

The Gifted and Talented Dance Cohort were invited to perform at the Woking College Dance show on the 29th June. The dancers along with Miss Heel, Winston's Dance teacher and Miss Howe, Head of PE spent their evening watching the very talented students of Woking College perform dances, songs and acting pieces that they had been working on for the past year. The Winston Dancers then performed two dances that they had been working on with Miss Heel - (the Rugby themed Dance and The Juggernaut) and they "wowed" the audience with their phenomenal high standard of performance. All the students behaved in a highly professional manner and Miss Heel and Miss Howe are so proud of every single student! Thank you to Woking College for inviting us to your great evening of performing arts, I think it's safe to say our students feel very inspired and a big WELL DONE to our Dancers -  Jada, Caitlin, Ellie, Laura, Lauren, Grace, Lily, Ziran, Anika, Naomi, Charlotte, Holly, Heather & Jake.
