Downton Abbey Comes to Winston Churchill!
Simon Donaldson, Head
of Performing Arts, said,
“ We are delighted that our Guest of Honour at this year’s Annual Arts Awards Evening was
the actress Laura Carmichael, currently playing Lady Edith in the hugely
successful ITV drama ‘Downton Abbey’.
Laura
presented the Art, Music and Drama Awards to the students on the evening of
Thursday, December 4th in an event that recognises and celebrates the
wonderful, exhilarating and hugely inspiring work that the students from the
Arts Faculty at Winston Churchill School have created over the last twelve
months. She ensured that the students were centre stage and congratulated them on their creativity and success. Laura addressed the audience and talked about the influence of the Arts when at school and the joy of being able to create and develop a character.
My thanks goes to the staff of the Creative Arts Faculty who work exceptionally hard to ensure our students have a diverse range of opportunities and for ensuring we can celebrate their success.
