Reflecting Together
On Thursday 9th November the whole school assembled on the patio to commemorate Armistice Day. It is unusual that we would bring the whole school together but we all considered this to important to provide time for everyone to reflect and to respect the sacrifices made to secure our freedoms and the values of our country.
Mr Drake and the following students played The Last Post;
Casey Adams Year 7
Jono Packett Year 9
Alfie Penrose Year 9
Ollie Aldrich Year 11
Our Assembly
Mrs Markham led assembly, last week, in preparation for Armistice Day. The aim was to inform but also to encourage students to think about their response to this significant occasion.Art Installation
Students and staff have contributed a poppy, with a message representing the past, the present or the future. Both the Art Department and the Technology Department designed and made the structure and assembled the poppies. Students are gradually adding more to the display.
Thank you to everyone who has made a contribution.
Sharing Family Stories
As part of our commemoration of the end of World War 1 we
are arranging a number of activities to provoke thought and encourage students
to reflect on the role that everyone in the country played, during that
significant period of our history.

6. It would be great if you have any stories regarding WW1 in
your family or images, that you would be willing to share with us. Mr Phillips would be keen, with your
permission, to build these into a book, to include research by our students,
which could be published. If you are
interested in supporting this idea please email s.phillips@wcsc.org.uk , he
would like to hear from you.
