Amazing Work

Year 7 Music

Below are pictures of 7CM’s outstanding music homework projects. They were tasked with researching an instrumental family and then had to present their work in an interesting way. The work from the whole class was exceptional.
Mr Drake was really impressed with the quality of the research as well as the presentation. Well done Year 7!

Yet more amazing homework from 9CG. They were asked to gather research on four different lid types, that they could use for their box designs, which are currently planning and making.  Miss Blackman was thrilled to receive such a high quality information and excellent presentation, which even in some cases included 3d interactive models, additional sketches explaining how to construct them and Esme Sawyer even had a go at making some sample mechanisms as well.

Maths Lessons

7WS have been introduced to some of the different resources that are used in maths lessons.  This week they have been playing fractics in groups which has helped their understanding of equivalent fractions.

The maths department is very lucky to have Mr Hollinshead as a full-time maths tutor.  He spends his week working with small groups of students helping them improve their maths ability and improve their progress in this subject.

8WG have started the topic of measure, in their first lesson this week they have been set the challenge of working out the how much it would cost to make enough cake for 100 people.  The only problem was the recipes were in imperial measurements and the price list was in metric.  Their problem solving skills were definitely tested.
