Peter Davison at Winston
Former student and 5th Doctor Who joined staff and students at Winston to celebrate the opening of our library and planetarium. Peter was able to tour the school, recognising the familiar and enjoying the new and innovative facilities. Our other guests included Jonathan Lord, Beryl Hunwicks, the Mayor of Woking, Douglas Spinks the Deputy Chief Executive of Woking Borough Council, as well as councillors, governors and local headteachers.
Following a tour of the school, Peter spent some time with Year 10 drama students, answering some really interesting questions, such as 'what is it like to work with CGI? and gaining some tips on performing. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and our students learnt a great deal.
Music was provided by our 'Big Band' conducted by Mrs Laurent, impressing all of our guests and then Peter removed the curtain over the plaque!
Peter also presented the prize for the winner of the 'Peter Davison Treasure Hunt' to Robert.
Everyone enjoyed a session in the planetarium, sampling what our students can experience during their lessons.
