Performance Space,Making a Difference

 Performance Space Enhancing Learning

Drama students at Winston have been taking advantage of an amazing opportunity to explore the technology available in the Performance space. Pupils have been quick to realise and capitalise on the near limitless possibilities of the new technology by fusing the creations of their mock performance exams with the impressive lighting set up and dynamic live filming facilities.
Students have been working alongside Mr. Major to use this tech in exciting and creative ways to improve their work on component 2, a part of the course that asks students to devise their own piece of Drama. High resolution positional cameras have allowed students to live stream monologues on to a massive screen behind the action which augments performances like never before.
One group has used this set up to incorporate a series of television interviews that can be filmed and shown while the examination takes place simultaneously! Others have made use of the intuitive lighting system to start thinking about how semantics through colour and position can completely change a devised performance.
It is very exciting to see what students are capable of when working with the new technology and we are consistently impressed by their ingenuity and creativity within the new space.
