Winston in Full Colour

 A Great Week of Sport

On behalf of the PE Department we would like to thank every member of staff and  all of our students for their support during National School Sports Week. Without the support of everyone a week like this doesn't work. It turned out to be a great week, which the students enjoyed and benefited from.

Over the week, with your help we were able to offer:
  • Alternative PE lessons
  • 5 x trips
  • 3 x student/staff tournaments
  • 2 x football tournaments
  • 3 x sporting fixtures
  • 1 x help with Hermitage Sports Day
  • 1 x colour run
  • 3 x Form Mini Olympics
As a school you have supported the week via reading countless notices, supervising students, getting involved in the tournaments, attending trips, delivering sport related lessons in your subject areas, making Quidditch hoops, and a special thank you to Mr French for getting gunged and so much more!

This week we have World Games Day (Wednesday 26th), Yr9 & 10 Sports Day (Thursday 27th) & Yr7 & 8 Sports Day (Friday 28th). Notices will be sent out about these events in due course.

Finally please read a positive email from a parent regarding last week:

"We just wanted to drop you a quick note to express our thanks for the National School Sports week activities. Participating in the various activities has allowed XXXXXXXX to connect with XXX peers, strengthen new friendships and feel more at ease in school. We appreciate this week takes a lot of organising and creates additional work but the positive impact it has on children is fantastic."

Thank you
Mr Martin
Deputy Subject Leader
