Year 9 Scholars
This year some of our Year 9 students took part in the Scholars Programme. The programme gave students an opportunity to be taught by a PHD tutor and complete a university graded academic essay on the topic: Reimagining Reality: Documentary Approaches in Art.
Students have worked incredibly hard both in and out of school, developing their critical thinking, independent work ethic and writing skills.
To celebrate their hard work, the students were invited to a graduation ceremony at Royal Holloway, University of London. The students got to learn about university life, take a tour of the university, take part in designing their own society and finally, they had their graduation ceremony where they were awarded with their Scholars Programme qualification. It was a fantastic day!

Dartboard Maths
Mrs Martin's Year 9 maths class were set a challenge this week; could they work out what percentage of her dartboard was red?
Working in groups and using the maths knowledge they had developed during key stage 3, they had to problem solve to come up with a plan of action to tackle this question. When they completed this, they had further challenges and questions that they had to answer using the whiteboard.
The class showed fantastic collaboration throughout the lesson.
