Winston in the Community

Brookwood School Fair

Yesterday Mr Drake took The Session Band over to Brookwood School Summer Fair. We played two sets during the afternoon. The students involved were fantastic and went down really well. They were a real credit to the school, as you can see from the letter of thank received below.

Hi Chris,

Thank you to you and your band for giving up your time yesterday.  We were all blown away by the quality of the playing. It was genuinely entertaining and very inspiring for the children - most of whom are bound for Winston over the next few years.

Please pass on the fact that again and again people said to us how good you all were.

I'm sure will be in touch again about next year!

Regards

Anna

From the Royal Albert Hall to Royal Holloway College and the fields of Runnymede Meadows!

After an amazing performance of The Freedom Game at the Royal Albert Hall, Winston dancers travelled to Runnymede Meadows to entertain Royalty and 4000 VIPs with a shortened version of Richard Stillgo’s opera after dancing at The Great Charter Festival at Royal Holloway College the previous day.
Jodie, Fareen, Sophie, Esme & Ziran formed part of the core dance company, giving their all, performing three times for their prestigious audience.
Once all the performance were complete, the school was once more honoured by taking part in the flag procession to welcome the Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince William, Princess Ann to the 800th anniversary celebration of the sealing of the Magna Carta.
Ziran was given the opportunity to meet Prince William, whilst Jodie, Fareen, Sophie and Esme along with Mrs Bell were flag bearers in the procession.  This was an incredible experience, being applauded by dignitaries as the procession walked past, with cameras flashing at the spectacular sight.
The day was completed by the Red Arrows flying overhead.  This will be one experience that Winston’s dancers will treasure.
