Half Term History
The students arrived at 9am and participated in two revision
sessions for each exam paper. Activities included fact-matching puzzles,
using lolly sticks to draw conclusions (!), writing practice answers, a silent
debate (see pictures) and of course a competitive game of Kahoot!
A big thanks to Miss Lister whose commitment to Twitter paid off
as we stole most of our ideas for the sessions from it! She also
diligently cut out and labelled most of the resources ready for the day.
Mrs Markham would like to say a huge well done to all who attended
the revision session; you were all fantastic and made it a really enjoyable
day. The History Department wish everyone in Year 11 good luck in the
upcoming History examinations.
Gymnastic Success
Great Britain’s junior men’s team secured the 2016 artistic gymnastics European team gold to keep up a remarkable run, making it five in a row and once again proving the incredible depth of talent in the country. Giarnni Regini-Moran, Joshua Nathan, Jamie Lewis of The Winston Churchill School, Joe Fraser and Donnell Osbourne held their nerve against tough opposition from Russia to seal the title on the final apparatus.
Well done, particularly to Jamie, for such an amazing outcome, achieved in a quiet, unassuming way.
