Year 10 Science
"Today, 10C3 investigated the decay of fresh whole milk. The students added lipase solution to milk containing cresol red indicator at different temperatures to monitor any changes taking place. Mr Hough`s class was able to identify the rates of decay by measuring the pH change. The colour changed from a pinkish, purple colour to yellow as the pH fell, indicating that the enzyme (lipase) started breaking down the milk and producing lactic acid. "
Warner Bros Studios
Year 10 had an exciting trip to the Warner Bros Studios on Thursday 23rd June. They took part in a careers workshop which gave them an insight into the many roles within the industry and the filming of a new Blockbuster film (not HP) that was taking place at the studios now before exploring the studios themselves to see what is involved in the making of a film. Students were excellent ambassadors for the school and really made the most of their day.
