Year 8 Olympics – NSSW
By: Rhys, Lola, Will and Miranda
On the 23rd June, Year 8 students participated in many activities for NSSW. Although the day was slightly cloudy the students brought a sunshine like attitude to everything they did. Some of the events that took place were tug of war, the egg and spoon race, an obstacle course, sack race, and a breath-taking volleyball final.
The volleyball final, KDY and WHO form groups were up against it, and a combined team took the victory being named “Volleyball superstars” by Mr Lambert. All students that participated got involved and enjoyed the activity.
The day also included an activity called staple chase an event that all students were very engaged in. One student said, "It's fun and gives us a feeling of community." Overall, we believe the day was a great success.
“The Year 8 Olympics has been a great opportunity to bring together the Year 8 community and develop all of the skills that sport can provide. It’s been great to see all the students enjoying the occasion.”
