Year 7 Day - NSSW
By Catrin and Mimi (Year 10)
Over the course of the day, the Year 7s were able to try 12 different sports, ranging from dance to archery. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to try a variety of sports that they may not have previously had the chance to take part in. This was a valuable experience for them as it provided them with the opportunity to be outside of their comfort zone.
Beforehand, they seemed incredibly enthusiastic and seemed to be really looking forward to the day.
When we spoke to the students, they were looking forward to the dance session and rugby. This was because some of them played these sports outside of school, and others wanted to try something new.
During the activities, we spoke to students taking part in volleyball. They had lots of energy and enjoyed it as it was something different that they had never done before. Some students even said that they would consider playing the sport outside of school. Everyone who was doing dance seemed very enthusiastic and they were all getting involved. Furthermore, as with volleyball, lots of students who were playing rugby said that they would continue to play the sport outside of PE lessons.
