IET Faraday Challenge
A team of students from Winston won the IET Faraday challenge
today, Tuesday 3rd March! The students were challenged to design and produce a 3D printed
casing, to house an electronic circuit. They had to work as a team to design,
budget, build and present the product. The team of 6 (Thomas
Borthwick, Nishant Vats, Rhianna Grainger, Anna Penman, Holly Kitcat and Tom
Curr) worked incredibly hard throughout the whole day and achieved a score of
91/100 narrowly beating the other five teams due to their
‘neatness, attention to detail and great presentation skills’.

Being Creative Matters
Mr Drake presented in assemblies this week on the subject of creativity. Students were asked to reflect on how they used their own creative skills and the impact that such skills have had on developments throughout time. Students were encouraged to take opportunities to be creative but perhaps not in their GCSE Maths examination!!!
Being Creative with Food
More amazing Year 9 work.
Indivdual Success
Ellie Sharpe has been chosen as a member of the National
Youth Music Theatre and will be performing in a brand new production, in a
cast of only 25, at The St James Theatre in London between August 12th and
15th. There are literally thousands of students aged 11-23 from across the
country who audition for the NYMT so she has been hugely successful in landing
a part in this production and we wish her the very best of luck during the
summer holidays.
