Developing our Partnership
The Chairs of Governors and the Headteacher/Principals of the four partner schools met on the 6th March 2015 to further the development of our Learning Partnership. The session started with the sharing of information about each school and as the discussions developed moved to a point where we set out some basic principles which will underpin our working agreement. It is great to be working with a like minded, forward thinking group of headteachers.

Amy Allcock, an former student, was called up to represent
GB as part of the Senior 4 x 400m Relay squad at the European Indoors
Athletics Championships held in Prague at the weekend. This was Amy's
first British vest, and at only 21, an amazing achievement.
Although Amy did not get to run, as there were 6 runners to chose
from, the 4x400m team brought home the bronze medal.
This did not deter Amy as she loved the experience and learned so
much about running in a majors championships "without having the
nerves". She is has been really motivated by the experience and we should
see her in action later in the summer, hopefully representing Britain in the
European U23 Champions.
Amy was very successful at athletics whilst at Winston, winning
the 300m at the English Schools Athletics Championships 2 years running and at
one point held the U15 300 UK record. She is currently studying Sports Science
at Loughborough.
We wish her all the best for a very exciting and successful
athletics career.
