Our School

Puzzle Challenge

Year 7 students were selected to participate in the Puzzle Challenge.  This competitive activity enabled students to recognise a number of skills that were required to be successful.  Students talked to me, in particular, about the communication skills necessary and stressed the importance of listening as well as contributing to the discussion.  Mrs Smith and Miss Chapman competed against the teams, which added to the pressure in the room to do well!  The students demonstrated high levels of concentration and determination throughout the range of tasks.

8WB French Lesson

There was some excellent work produced by 8WB today, Thursday, in their French lesson. They were given the challenge of writing a dialogue in a French café. Haven been given some basic phrases by the teacher, they were asked to write and perform their own dialogue to a at least a level 5. Some students were so enthusiastic, creative and accurate in their language that they were asked to perform to the class.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Students are participating in the final expedition this weekend,  to achieve their Bronze Award.  The staff, in particular, would like frost free nights!  We wish them every success.
