Assembly: We are Creatures of Emotion
As I am sure your children will have told you, I like to do something unusual in my assemblies to get everyone talking!
The Theme of this assembly: We are Creatures of Emotion.
Therefore, I took the students through a number of ideas regarding emotions and emotional intelligence. In particular that it is okay to feel sad, frustrated, annoyed and a range of other feeling, what matters is that you learn to recognise them and then to manage them in yourself and ultimately in others.
The assembly finished with members of staff dancing to 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams, filmed and edited by Mr Major, Media Technician. The staff had great fun making it and they were shown the final version at briefing on Monday morning. It is not very often that staff are the stars of the blog but you can see from the images below that every one had a happy start to Monday morning.!!
Anti-Bullying Week: "Choose Respect"
November 11th-15th
We are excited to announce that Anti-Bullying Week will take place from 11th to 15th November, and this year’s theme is “Choose Respect.”
Over the next few weeks, we will be focusing on raising awareness about the importance of respect, both for oneself and for others.
Our aim is to create a supportive and positive school environment where all students feel safe and valued. This will be addressed through a series of assemblies and tutor-led activities, encouraging discussions around kindness and mutual respect.
In addition, we will continue to remind students of the importance of reporting any incidents of bullying. Students should report to a member of staff or use the “Report a Bullying Incident” tab on Frog to share any concerns confidentially. Students may also report on 'WHISPER' also found on FROG, if they wish to report any concerns anonymously. It is crucial that we are informed about any incidents of unkind behaviour so that the appropriate actions can be taken by the Year Teams.
