A Week in the Music Department
This week there has been lots happening in the Music Department. Firstly, there are a few photos of the orchestra rehearsing in the Performance Space on Wednesday. Like all of our ensembles, they have started preparing a number of pieces for our performances coming up later this term. The orchestra will feature in our Christmas Concert on 16th December.
We then had the first of our 'Break Time Shorts' concerts on Friday, which featured Year 8 student Freddie. The 'Break Time Shorts' is a new initiative that the music prefect team have organised to give the school community the chance to see more of our talented musicians in action.
Finally, the last picture is of our new Cello Club which meets every Friday after school. This is being run by Year 10 student, Lana. She has not only set up and organised the rehearsals but has written the arrangements for the group to play.
Next week we are very excited to have musicians from the British Army in to work with our students. After a day of rehearsals there will be a free to attend concert in the performance space at 3.30pm.
