PE Curriculum Development
This week, Winston were able to host NFL Flag Football Participation Co-ordinators who delivered the 1st ever teacher training day in Surrey to 25 teachers who attended from across the South East.
The aim of the day was to develop knowledge and understanding of Flag Football (a non-contact version of American Football) and give teachers confidence to implement it into their curriculums and extra-curricular clubs. Apart from the fundamental movements and transferable skills, Flag Football also requires large amounts of adaptability, problem solving and team work which will help develop student collaboration, resilience and ingenuity.
Upon arrival of the free equipment from NFL UK, the PE Department look forward to implementing Flag Football within the KS4 curriculum to start with in 2026.
