Off to Torquay!
A large number of students are spending the week on residential courses. The group of Year 9 students below are going to Torquay under the leadership of Mr Byrne. Others have gone to Newquay, Germany and France. There will be up-dates later in the week.
Below are several activities that have taken place throughout the day:
Building a Catapult
The Football Package
Baking!
The Marines at Winston
Media Stage and Screen Day One
Learning the basics of hand drawn animation: students
created their own flicker books, filmed and edited them adding sound and music
as appropriate.
They planned ideas in small groups in the morning.
They were instructed to make an emotional impact on the audience. Their stories
could be set anywhere and the character could be anything/person/creature as
long as somewhere in the story telling, the character met another character,
had a balloon and found a box. The outcomes were extremely varied!
