Activities Week Day 3

The Isle of Wight

Year 9 enjoy some outdoor adventure on the Isle of Wight!  The students are challenging themselves as they experience new skills and have to work together to achieve and have fun.

'Modern Myth'

In RE and Business Studies students are taking part in the 'Modern Myth' package.
The students are developing their own civilisations and cultures and creating plays and stories which they will act out later in the week.
Today the students are creating the ceremonial masks for their tribes!

A working dragon.

Rehearsing the play.

Team Work!

Groups of students had to work together to complete a number of challenges.  The only way each group could be successful was if they listened and cooperated with each other.  The staff were very impressed with the way in which the students worked together.

Birds of Prey

Some students had the opportunity to learn about birds of prey this morning.  They had the opportunity to see a Harris Hawk, a Peregrine Falcon, a Bald Eagle and a Barn Owl called Sparkle.

 More Baking

 More exceptional baking!

History/Geography Package

On Wednesday students investigated features of our local area through a day of fieldwork. Groups conducted a ‘Placecheck’ of the area around the school to assess the qualities of our area, highlighting where improvements are needed, and suggesting changes that might be needed.

In the afternoon groups went into St Johns village and became ‘Urban Detectives’ and asked a range of local people their views about the village.
Miss Gould did not see the sign that said only children under 12 should use the playground.
