Activities Week Day 5

Modern Myths

On Thursday the students on the Modern Myth Package were acting out and filming the scripts about the mythical civilisations they have created.
The students have been incredibly creative and the young people from different year groups have collaborated exceptionally very well, taking on different roles such as director, script writer and editor.

Play in a Week!

Macbeth

Students have worked hard throughout the week to create a production of Macbeth.  Our young people produced an amazing performance, from the acting to the stage direction, props and costumes.  The students were so supportive of each other, including the point in the play where Mr Donaldson had to step in as one of the cast felt unwell.  The audience really appreciated the challenge of the piece and the standard achieved; everyone is to be congratulated.

Mr Donaldson had to step in to the role of MacBeth.

Fabulous performance!   Thank you to everyone involved.

Street Artists

Students have been planning and creating these very striking panels to go up in a number of departments around the school.  Everyone involved has been very excited about the designs and the quality of work that they have produced this week. As you can see the results are stunning.

Working Together

Students spent the session working in groups to solve a number of problems.  There was a competition, as points were given to each group for the tasks, reflecting their ability to communicate and work as a team.

Design, Eat, Create & Read

The Year 7, 8 and 9 students were an absolute credit to their year whilst participating in the Design, Eat, Create and Read activities package. They showed resilience and ingenuity whilst collaborating together to make amazing, mouth-watering dishes. Colleagues that came to see the finished dishes commented on how professional the food looked and the obvious skills that were evident. Whilst preparing the dishes all students were responsible for capturing images of the finished outcomes. They then spent time within the DT department making stunning cookery book stands and a personalised cook book that reflects on the week of successful products.

The staff involved must be thanked for all their hard work in supporting each and every student to build upon their skills.
