The Changing World of Computing

 Bletchley Park

From the perspective of our students.

The visit to the Museum of Computing was an enjoyable experience. I enjoyed the quizzes and the activities, which made learning about hoe computing effected history more engaging. The detailed scale replicas and exhibits were very interesting, especially with the museum being located near Bletchley Park. Overall, it was an excellent trip, it showed how much technology has advanced over the years and how it has helped change history such as WW2.

When we arrived, we were greeted by the enthusiastic museum staff and provided with a short itinerary for the day. However, we weren't prepared for how much fun we were going to have! All of us especially loved the retro games area, where we got to try out some old-school consoles and computers, and the BBC Micro workshop was cool as well as engaging. But personally, my favourite thing was looking at all of the hardware that helped crack the enigma code in action. It was interesting seeing how the ancestors of modern computers eventually evolved into what we have now!
